Things you didn't know about us

In 1856, André Oscar Wallenberg started Sweden’s first private bank. Thus becoming the country’s first venture capitalist. The bank has been characterized by his innovative thinking and commitment to society ever since. SEB has accompanied businesses and families out into the world for over 150 years.

In 1905, Wallenberg and Stockholm Enskilda Bank (today's SEB), financed the start of Norsk Hydro.

SEB played an active role in industrial construction, both as a lender and as an initiator. Marcus Wallenberg was the chair man of Orkla, a position he held until his death in 1943. SEB was Orkla's main bank for decades.

Today, SEB has a 30 per cent market share of the Large Corporate market in Norway.

For the seventh time in a row SEB Enskilda was announced the best brokerage house in the Prospera's annual survey in Norway. The rating system is represented by two categories: private investors and institutional clients, and SEB got  most points in both categories.

SEB also owns the brand Eurocard and Diners Club in the Nordic Countries.
